[OSEN=박현민 기자] “HELLO BITCHES” – CL’s promotion single released before her official debut in the US – was uploaded on Korea’s music streaming websites and received great interest.
At 12 PM on December 5, YG Entertainment (YG) released “HELLO BITCHES” in Korea through major music streaming websites. On November 21, YG distributed the song for free by uploading it on the online audio distribution platform SoundCloud. “HELLO BITCHES” received a great response, and it became available on iTunes stores on November 26.
YG said, “Korean fans have shown great interest in CL’s new single and it even became the most searched topic on Melon. However, fans were having trouble listening to the song, so we’ve decided to upload it on major music streaming websites despite the fact it was distributed for free.”
Upon release, “HELLO BITCHES” made it to the top ten on major charts. This is remarkable considering that it was distributed for free two weeks ago and the song’s lyrics are mostly in English.
“HELLO BITCHES” was able to achieve such results because those who have watched the music video released earlier took interest, the song got great response from global fans, and CL put on an impressive performance at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).
“HELLO BITCHES” is gaining great popularity thanks to its bouncy beat and addictive sounds. The choreography video, which was released along with the song, features choreography made and directed by world renowned dancer Parris Goebel and shows CL’s powerful and sexy charm.
At the 2015 MAMA held in Hong Kong on December 2, CL performed “HELLO BITCHES” on stage for the first time with Parris Goebel and the Request Dance Crew. It received a huge response from the audience. After MAMA was broadcasted, “HELLO BITCHES” made it to the top ten on the iTunes charts of various Asian countries. As of December 5, “HELLO BITCHES” is No.1 in Vietnam, No.4 in Singapore, No.7 in Cambodia, No.8 in Hong Kong, and No.9 in Taiwan.
CL signed a contract with Scooter Braun’s SB PROJECTS, and her “HELLO BITCHES” was co-released by YG and School Boy Records. Currently, her US debut album and the music videos are completed, and she is set to make her grand debut in the US.
