- Recording the highest viewership with appearance of YG Family as judges
“WHO IS NEXT : WIN” (“WIN”), a survival show to YG Entertainment’s new boy band, recorded the “best one minute” in its viewership, with the appearance of YG Family members who gathered to judge the first performance battle between Team A and Team B.
The highest viewer rating was recorded thanks to the appearance of YG’s head producer Yang Hyun Suk, Big Bang’s Taeyang and G-Dragon who mentored Team A and B respectively, as well as Big Bang’s Top, Dae Sung, Seungri, and 2NE1’s CL, Bom, Dara, and Minzy, who appear on TV after a long time, in “WIN” Episode 5.
According to viewer rating institution Nielson Korea, the viewer rating of the show recorded the highest surpassing 1%, during a minute when YG’s leading singers appeared after a long time as cool-headed judges to evaluate “WIN” members’ performances.
Plus, the viewership among teenage girls and women in their twenties was found out to be overwhelmingly highest.
In the show on the day, members of Team A (Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon, Nam Tae Hyun, and Gang Seung Yoon) and Team B (B.I, Kim Jin Hwan, Bobby, Song Yoon Hyung, Goo Jun Hwe, and Kim Dong Hyuk) looked excited and nervous about their first battle, and they peeped into the other team, when checking their channel of movement on the stage and starting a dry rehearsal.
The members of Team A seemed to be quite surprised by Team B’s performance and said, “They are our rival but definitely good. We are very surprised. They can be complacent because they have been wining so far. But they are not, and showing awesome new passion and skills every day.”
Then, Team B demonstrated confidence, saying, “We began to enjoy performing on the stage after mentoring.”, “We are nervous but more excited than worried.”, and “You can think of our past performances as appetizer.”
Notably, at the end of the episode, Seungri and Top appeared and gave cutting critique, “You are too expressionless”, and “You seem to have chosen the wrong song. It was unsophisticated.”, respectively, which triggered high expectations for “WIN”’s first performance which will be aired in the next episode.
